What is the best wand a mage could have? I currently have an ancient sceptre.

It depends on what kind of wand you want. Sleds and brooms aren't wands but they are also really good Mage weaps.

One-handed:
Wand of the Winter King (damage)
Golden Sceptre of Blizzards (normal)

Two-handed:
Avalanche Sled
Broom of Doom (you will rarely see these)

May be a little old but two best wands til you can get metoric i would say are the lux shop (blizzard) wand. Its ranged good cold magic damage. But if your tight on funs or you need another good wand farm the wand from issian (Flamin Furry) It has nice heat damage.
