Dpsing is a role in and of itself, putting every class on an even tilt destroys dpsing as a specialized role and eliminates the need for certain classes. I personally dont think that eliminating the role of multiple classes in order to cater to another is creating balance.

All classes will always be needed. Mages for lures, rangers for bolas, druids for heals, warriors for tanking and mages for luring/freeze. Since this is the case i don't see how creating dps balance would at all eliminate roles of classes.

Because DPS is the primary role of 3 classes. Why should a warriors secondary role be on par with other classes primary role? If this happens what will make people choose to make a ranger alt? Warriors level faster, and at least on my server are much cheaper and easier to gear. Why would someone choose to make a ranger alt if they can achieve the same level of DPS (your "dps balance") more cheaply and with greater survivability?

I also want to point out that tank warrior is a whole build, with much greater depth than say support ranger. Most of a rangers support skills are useless and need fixes, and really the two viable ones, bolas and entangle are usually carried by full DPS rangers as a backup skills. Therefore there really isn't such a thing as a "support ranger," and therefore we really only have 1 role.
Because of this, the dps distinction between ranger and warrior is important since it's really the only advantage/reason to choose ranger over warrior that we have, sadly.

I don't see anyone saying rogues should be just support or have lowered dps because they can take a support role. If a warriors role is a tank and 7 warriors show up, you might as well just have a few log out and go do something else because their toon is practically worthless.

Just because warriors, rangers, and rogues would be able to provide equal dps doesn't diminish the role they can provide in support build.

It's humorous to me to see some not in favor of classes being able to do more damage so bosses die faster and less plat items are used. You could even fix rupture so it's not a useless skill for all other warriors when only 1 can use it.

How about boosting mage damage at eg bosses instead? It's the third DPS class after all, and I can assure you lure monkey at prot is as boring as it gets in CH lol

You need 3 things to kill bosses (im keeping this in an endgame perspective)
Heals~Druid
Someone to heal~War
people to kill it

Lures and rogue buffs are helpful but do you need them? no. They are secondary skills to boost the effectiveness of the core dps skills.

The two classes that you cannot boss at endgame without are druids and wars (tanks make bolas irrelevant and most raid bosses cant be bolased)

Rogues ,Rangers, and Mages skills (what defines the class) are primarily designed for dps, sure they have support skills However they are small boosts to exemplify their original purpose (Killing stuff) if you give druids and wars the exact same capabilities then what need is there for those classes? Druids and Wars can already be built into competent dpsers but that is not their primary role, im not saying all wars are tanks and all druids are healers (i love my druids dps haha) but by making dps their primary role as is suggested it removes the need for other classes.

If your saying all is needed is heals, warrior and people to do it then OTM should make 3 classes. Tank, heal and DPS.

Exactly OTM already destroyed the role of an entire class :) so why not buff every auto class and put mages deeper in the hole lol

3 Dps classes also 3 Damage sub types (elemental, physical, divine) and 2 rang types (close and far)

Mages-Burst pure elemental, far range
Ranger-combination divine and physical, far range (Auto based)
Rogue combination physical and divine, far range (skill based)

Classes have roles, no point having roles if everyone’s on par.

For some people this seems to be a tricky concept to grasp

Rogues and Rangers can be support and DPS, and viable at both?

I frequently use my rogue to tank bosses.

A high end dps warrior doesn’t compete with an average ranger because there isn’t a EG DPS offhand for warriors.

  Have you ever seen mages at any event boss? It's just that since divine damage took off, OTM failed to give mage any viable sources of divine damage (other than a slow offhand skill), and therefore they've fallen off. We deal decent damage at Proteus as well as some EDL bosses even as it is. Mage is the elemental DPS class.
