#22They Made it non trade able because last Christmas when it was trade able people kept complaining that users made multiple new accounts to get the hats and sell them off. which caused servers to lag.

#30I'm joining to the minority, I don't see the "no trade" tag a problem since they are gifts (with no financial value) and it's fine as it is. It also makes the whole giveaway more exciting - at least for me. Only bad thing could happen if you can able to get a duplicate since the second copy would be completely useless but... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
