Cheech had been gone well over a year and had nothing to do with it. Neither did Blaz ..he stepped down and stopped playing , yes, but he chose a new chief. Prime had a chief for months after Blaz left (InfamousBoss). Infamous was the one who totally went MIA and forced a banner change. No inactivity of anyone else factored into the change of banner ...we didn't collapse ..we simply changed banners.
In a way Prime did collapse, these days most active players in Ascension were never in prime, so if we are talking about maintaining the original clan, no we didn't achieve that, did we create a better clan on top of the fallen rubble of Prime, Yes.

There's still a lot of active members that were around for Prime. Majority of leadership is made up of people that came from Prime. It is true that the majority of the clan that's currently active was never under that banner, but people come and go....just because several original members went inactive doesn't change anything. A full on Collapse would have meant a new clan emerged on top, unrelated to prime rules and leadership (or a split between everyone) ...but Ascension formed with all the same members, basic rules, and remained dominate. Several old members slowly went inactive over the years, but not all at once. ..gaining new people just means we kept evolving. I don't see it as a collapse or downfall, more of a Evolution, which was runner up for the new clan name btw

Have DEADLIEST ever been big?? Every now and then I'll see some 220+ member chilling in the castle, but I've never thought of them as being anywhere near populated enough to be considered a big clan, and despite having heard plenty about the former size of Sin and Rapture, no one's ever mentioned DEADLIEST as being one of the old end game clans
The forming of Deadliest was the major downfall of Eve. Sin and Deadliest were the top two clans for six months or so. Then a big internal blow came with Deadliest and they never recovered. Several Deadliest actually join Sin at that time and we changed our name to InnerCircle shortly after.
