Whats up with that? When go to purchase in the plat shop it says $99 but when i click buy it says $117.

17 percent tax rate? Sounds wrong lol
some states do tax online sales tho...

I live in alabama and there's no tax. Thankfully, because 17% tax is massive.

It appears as though some States in the US have put their tax rate up on purchases from the Google PlayStore, this has also occurred here in the UK. This does not appear to be all States that this increase effects, just the unlucky few.

Sorry guys but this stuff is out of our control unfortunately.

Yup Canada is infamous for high taxes. Especially if you live in Québec.

The base price is supposed to be 99.99 USD for 4000 plat (the standard for most game pricings are on USD). Therefore I am pretty sure due to the differing value of money Europe will be priced less than 100, and Canada will be higher.. your price is dependant on your country's money value in comparison to the USD.
