It said in patch notes it’s back but it’s not?

There was a few bugs with it. They disabled it till further notice

The latest resolution to help players getting stuck at the loading screen was causing other realms to behave inappropriately. Last night we disabled it until we figure out the best solution.
Apologies if you were looking forward to chatting with players from different servers, but you will be able to again in the near future.

Tavern is a better choice it is a social gathering spot by design.
