Celtic Spiritlands

I sent OTM an email of the images and an audio piece which I really hope they can upload because I had troubles doing it to truly make this sound and look great.

Introduction

To be truly lost, none of your five senses must work. Not the gentle breeze of a wind can be felt on the face. Not the call of Gelebron can be heard throughout the land nor the grand civilisation of Farcrag Castle be seen. The smell of the fear from brave men is no more from the mighty Aggragoth and the taste of dirt from hitting the ground has disappeared. For as you know, at this point, you are truly dead. Welcome, to the Celtic Spiritlands.

Every Hero and monster has a purpose, and it is up to you to complete it.

(Sorry, I got carried away and made it fairly long, read the rest if interested but I think this is a magnificent idea. The start is the intro and setting for the new land. PM me any questions and I’ll be more than happy to answer. At the bottom is hopefully the images and an audio piece if they work.)

The Land

The Spiritlands are a mysterious land with only leystones to assist you in getting around. The map is no assistance as well, as it will require you to learn your way around the lands due to the fog keeping the place uncharted territory.

Monsters are of numerous levels and you are restricted to certain areas based on levels. The higher your level, the more of the fog that dissipates.

To enter the land for the first time you must speak to Afala the wise. He is a giant human in a robe with an open book floating in the middle of him. Only he is able to travel to the spiritlands and back, that is, until you speak to him. The level requirement for this area is 1, but needs to be higher to unclock more places.

Upon entering this vast land, fog is all you see. Continue walking for a few moments forward and the world becomes clearer.

You begin your adventure in the ancient Spirit-town of Kodlerine. This worn-down area is full of buildings half destroyed and made out of withering away mud and sticks. No one knows how these buildings got here, but it is now the area where many spirits spend their time. Although the buildings don’t give any shelter as the weather is stopped in time, they bring back memories to the spirits which is why they stay.

Other areas include;
The pit (described later)- massive pit
The ancient castle of spirits (described later)
The Flat lands – almost like a long and wide barren desert except with different weather (fog)
Mountain of the waiters – Travel up the mountain to find many ancient and legendary creatures waiting to be freed. Their stories may assist in quests.
Silent forest of time – A forest full of overgrown trees which have stopped in time. Leaves are still mid-air and the spirits wander around this forest looking for movement. Keep going deeper in and you may find the ancient Bristlecone Pine. It is rumoured that these oldest trees in Dal Riata speak and have much knowledge.

Quests

Spirit Bounties – Some may seek revenge whilst others are still completing their journey and have failed. The Celtic Gods have called and it is up to you to finish their tasks. This bounty consists of killing major bosses based on levels such as Rockbelly, Pyrus and Sreng. Elite bounties consist of bosses such as Mordris, Gelebron and Aggragoth. This quest if completed will be extremely rewarding.
Wise Memories task – The spirit of a wise man still lingers in the spiritlands. There are only tales but it is rumoured that he hears and sees everything. His knowledge is comparable to all life combined in the world of Dal Riata. The wise man seeks desire. Desire of past memories. This is where you must search for the legendary legacy monsters, and in return receive an item of the wise mans choosing. Very hard quest to complete and requires luck.
Spirit Armour – after achieving exalted dragonlord armour, your next quest for the best game armour begins. You will need to kill both ancient and legendary bosses in the spiritlands and use their drops to get these items of great calibre.

Weather

In the spiritlands, time stands still. The weather is neither dull nor bright as the beings there haven’t accomplished their purpose and are waiting. Fog is the main scenery of weather to create mystery around every turn.

Bosses – Enemies – Monsters (intro)

Upon being taken to the spiritlands for the first time, it is said you have been given the spirit aura which gives you the ability to kill and speak to anything in the spiritlands as though you were in the normal world.

The land is vast and mysterious; it carries the past and present of all the Celtic heroes. Due to this, we have the Present, Legend and Ancient monsters/bosses. A present monster is a common creature who has passed from Dal Riata into the spiritlands. These include all creatures which can presently be killed. A Legend creature can be a normal monster or boss but are extremely rare, almost like a legacy. They have never been confirmed and there are only rumours, so it is up to you to prove if they exist or not. An Ancient creature is a normal monster or boss who existed in the past and was extremely strong. The ancient creatures ruled and controlled Dal Riata in the past.

Bosses

I’ll start off with my favourite.

The pit (Ancient Boss)

The roar of a monster echoes throughout the Spiritlands. Through the ancient path which no one dares to enter lurks only a rumour. A rumour which even the spirits don’t speak of. It is said it took an army to take it down and no less then that again. For what is heard through the whispers of the ancients, is the dragons Aggragoth and Mordris. It is said that this roar commands them. For they are only brothers, and what lurks in the pit, is their father, the ancient, mighty Dlanoth. After killing/freeing Dlanoth, he rewards you with drops to the lock group, these consist of quest items used to get the strongest weapons and armour in the game. (This can also be a combined world boss where players from all worlds can go and meet other players) difficulty – Extreme high level and all classes are required.

The Ancient Castle of Spirits

Ancient spirits lurk in the castle which use to be the travel destination for many heroes in the past. It wasn’t until Supreme King Kai Ni-or the King of the castle turned evil after someone gave him the Totem of Control. With this totem in his possession he is able to call upon Legendary Spirits in which you must defeat to be able to damage the totem. Once the totem is destroyed, it is up to you to defeat the Supreme King once and for all. After freeing/killing the King, he rewards you with quest drops to the lock group, the strongest in the game which came from an ancient and blessed path.

Other Bosses
Desire the Fashionista – Desire is a boss who drops fashion items. In the ancient times her fashion was the most desired and sought after in the world. (Talked more in fashion)
The Gods – The Gods consist of many Celtic Hero Gods spawning in numerous areas. They all control different powers such as some may use the sea to assist them in battle, whereas others use love, which heals them in battle for a period of time off the hits of players. These gods are both ancient and legendary and drop items for getting the strongest armour in the game

Fishing

The spiritlands have the rarest fish in the game and require 120+ fishing just to access the area. This area is for chosen fisherman and is a great investing point. It also gives you the opportunity to cook food and craft them into elite restoration pots (no trade).

Vendor

I want you to imagine what would be in the vendor. It will consist of extremely strong end game gear as well as a luxury store which in the same way as the store in the sewers, has a chance of selling an ancient or legendary item. This also applies for weapons and armour which makes it extremely sought after due to rarity, but it comes at a price (expensive).

Fashion

Fashion hits a new high as it reaches new barriers. Many new gear sets are introduced and are only earned from rare bosses. Almost like stores/shops, certain colours or parts e.g. a trimmed body are rarer than a plain body. Bosses are of level x and can be killed by whoever finds it. Thus, making it non-clan dominant. It requires luck of a drop.

Armour

The strongest armour in the game requires, skill, patience and strength. Killing bosses for this armour is no ordinary task and once achieved, it will prove rewarding. The armour is different for all classes and is made through all of the ancient, past and present knowledge combined. It emanates an aura out of the armour respective to the classes and it represents power. Attached is an example of how it could look.

Release

Upon release of this update, Spirit Chests will be in the platinum store. These will exclusively be out for a month and coincide with double platinum to attract people. These chests have a chance to drop a Spiritland Cape which boosts speed by 80% plus. Below is an image of how one may look.

Images

Sorry I am a terrible drawer, I know, it’s bad. What started out as a warrior became a druid haha.

These two images consist of end game druid spiritland armour as a vague idea of what it would look like aswell as the spiritland cape. Again had troubles uploading it so hopefully OTM can do it for me.

Audio Piece

I have made an audio piece to set a scene as I am hopeless at artwork, but have learnt audio. Not sure if it will work but I have sent it to OTM and hopefully they can upload it if it doesn’t.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to read all of this and I hope you greatly enjoyed it.

In a place far far away there was a mountain.(the mountain would be north east on the castle) the mountain would have different cave going into it with things like golems, trees, drakes, and armored mountain goats. These caves would scale from 200-250. There's can be different bosses amongst these for another armore quest or more bosses for dg armor. The caves would twist and curve along the mountain ocasinaly coming out into open spaces with pillars or trees looking out. (this would be a perfect place for a boss) within these caves there a broken shards of weapons.(whatever your class is there will be shards for it, like sword shards etc.) you have to collect different shards peices and then peices can be put together to craft different kinds of armor and weapons for your class. These weapons are requred for you to kill the boss that is onto of the mountain. The boss is in a half coliseum sorounded by 235 5*. The boss it's self is lvl 240. The boss is a chaos boss and has a special ability. Kind of like SKAIN and how it resists different kinds of damage this boss does this by class. Sometimes rangers are doing a ton of damage to it but then it switches to them so they don't do any. (It can switch every 15 seconds) once defeated the boss droped better braces and can drop sets of jewelry like a gara set and weapons. This will be the toughest boss in the game.

A big earthquake landed on dal riata revealing an entrance to a long cave between the rocks. following it gets colder and colder. until reaching a wide white area. covered in thick snow, as some spots here will slow people down, the area looks so dark and isolated. the cold winds howling with musical tones while going through empty logs, and guiding snowflakes in every direction. the place is crawling with bloodthirsty wolfs, aggressive bears, and even sights of huge red hairy mammoths roaming around, far from the entrance you can see a big white castle and a big mountain. the castle being Messa castle, full of strong warriors guarding the outside and Messinian people living inside, all wearing brown fur being warm, as for the Northan Mountain being a holder of the Frozen Cave, they say this place is called "Frostestate" because of being a land owned by a huge, white haired creature with strong meteoric powers, who knows nothing but to crush everyone in sight, sleeping in his lair in the end of the Frozen Cave. for that the elders of Messa have sealed the entrance of "Frostestate" forbidding entry except for whom are powerful enough to survive

Geimhreadh Mountains (Geimhreadh is the Irish-Celtic word for Winter)

At this point of the year, temperatures are warm everywhere in the land of Dal Riata. Everywhere. Well, almost everywhere...

Located between Lir's Reach and Shalemont Ravine, the frigid Geimhreadh Mountains offer Yuletide weather year-round. The mountains are a treacherous climb, meaning that only the most brave of heroes can navigate their way through the peaks and permafrost. Because a large landslide completely obstructed the easy path between Lir's Reach and Shalemont Ravine, the only way to get between the two zones now is through these steep and gelid crags. Although it looks to be an arduous climb, it must be done to get into the ravine, in order to help drive the ruthless Connacht invaders out.

The mountains are covered by a thick blanket of snow, causing any hero climbing them to move 20% slower on foot or on a mount touching the ground. Mounts that levitate are exempt to this.

These snowy mountains are not to be dealt with in a loud manner, because if a player shouts, it has a 5% chance of triggering an avalanche. Any player unlucky enough to get in the way of an avalanche will receive a kind blessing of 200 damage, and they will be unable to move for 10 seconds.

The mountains also deal cold damage, sapping away at 5% of the player's total HP per tick. However, the more cold resist that a player has, the less damage the cold will do. This area is mainly purposed to assist those who need to transition from Level 20 to 30 in order to have a better chance fighting the Connacht. They usually don't have enough cold resist at this point of the game. As a result, a new armour line to mitigate the cold is there, and requires a minimum of Level 20 to equip. Obviously, this is weak armour, as it is geared towards Level 20-30.

The armour is gathered in a different manner to all of the other major armour questlines later. The player has to gather relics hidden in the mountains, rather than having to fight enemies for them, in exchange for a piece of the armour in the set known as the Bonfire Armour set (Bonfires help to stay warm!). Each piece of armour is also able to get every 2 levels, rather than every 5. Each piece of armour lowers the cold HP drain rate by 1%, to a total of 5% (if the whole set is equipped), where the cold deals no damage. The set looks like an ancient parka, something like this.

(Not my image, but something it would look like)

There is one friendly location in the mountains, known as Geimhreadh Base Camp, complete with a leystone, a vendor selling weapons dealing heat damage, and an NPC known as Cedric the Guide, who is the one in charge of the Bonfire Armour questline. There is also one more normal quest NPC, known as Commander O'Connor, who's quest I will explain more about soon. Players in the base camp do not take cold damage, as there are bonfires all over the place.

The main enemy in these mountains are an ancient tribe known as the Fuar, (Fuar means Cold in Irish-Celtic) who have inhabited the mountains for centuries. They are generally a passive bunch, but they are now angry because their home is being trampled on by foreigners, and they are therefore trying to drive out the heroes. They aren't really bad, they are just trying to protect their home. There are also animals like the mountain lion, and passive mountain goats. Lastly, a special boss, which you can check out in my enemies list.

Now, back to Commander O'Connor's quest. The Fuar are constantly attacking any heroes who dare to venture outside the base camp, and are apparently planning to attack the camp in due time. Commander O'Connor enlists the help of the player to hinder them. Doing this quest would help the player get from Levels 20-28, but it is a long one.

Here's some examples of enemies in the zone:

- Mountain Goat (No level, no star)

- Mountain Lion (Lv 21, **)

- Alpha Mountain Lion (Lv 22, ***)

- Fuar Gatherer (Lv 23, *) (Rogue-type enemy)

- Fuar Hunter (LV 23, **) (Ranger-type enemy)

- Fuar Icewielder (LV 24, **) (Mage-type enemy)

- Fuar Icedoctor (LV 24, ***) (Druid-type enemy)

- Fuar Icemaster (LV 24, ****) (Mage-type enemy)

- Fuar Iceguardian (LV 25,****) (Warrior/Mage-type enemy)

- Fuar Iceking (LV 25, *****) (Warrior-type enemy)

- Fuar Icequeen (LV 25, ******) (Mage-type enemy)

Following enemies are animal-like, frozen creatures:

- Fuar Snowcreature (LV 26, *)

- Fuar Snowmonster (LV 26, **)

- Fuar Snowhellion (LV 26, **)

- Fuar Snowfiend (Lv 26, ***)

- Fuar Snowdevil (Lv 27, ****)

- Fuar Snowcolossus (Lv 28, **)

- Fuar Snowbeast (Lv 28, ***)

- Alpha Snowbeast (Lv 28, ****)

- Fuar Snowlegend (Lv 29, ****)

- Fuar Yeti (Lv 30, *****) - Special skill - Cold Blood --> Freezes the player doing the most damage to the Yeti for 20 seconds. The affected player cannot move or attack. Their cold resist temporarily fails during this time, but works again when the player thaws. When defeated, the Yeti drops a message from the MacCroin detailing the Shalemont Ravine situation, and once given to Commander O' Connor, the quest ends. It is implied that a MacCroin member tried to deliver the message to Lir's Reach by travelling the mountains, but was stopped and killed by the Yeti, which took the message for itself, although it is doubtful that a Yeti could read. But who knows?

The human enemies are mostly found wandering in the snow around the camp, but the king and queen are found in an ice fortress near the peak of one of the mountains. The mountain animals are found more towards the base camp, while the snow creatures are found in icy tunnels deep in the snow. Not only do the mountains connect with both Lir's Reach and Shalemont Ravine, but also to Fingal's Cave, through one of the icy tunnels. There is a leystone in these tunnels, known as Frozen Cavern.

Although Shalemont Ravine is accessible whether the player chooses to help out in the mountains or not, it is recommended that the player helps out before going to Shalemont, as it provides them with valuable experience and knowledge which will assist them in their battle against the nefarious Connacht.

Armour Quest:

Gloves- Gather 5 Fuar Relics (Level 20)

Boots- Gather 10 Fuar Relics (Level 22)

Helm- Gather 20 Fuar Relics (Level 24)

Legs- Gather 30 Fuar Relics (Level 26)

Chest- Gather 40 Fuar Relics (Level 28)

The relics are pieces of a lost book of Fuar secrets, and once pieced together, anyone who learns the book's secrets is said to gain supernatural powers. They can be found in the ice tunnels, in the snow, in the ice fortress, and even in the camp! Cedric the Guide wishes to gather many relics, in the hopes of sharing the secrets with the MacCroin, so they can defeat the Connacht. In exchange, armor providing warmth. But unbeknownst to the heroes helping him out, Cedric's real plans are to sell the secrets to the highest bidder, and the devious Hawkhurst Smugglers of the Dunskeig Sewers, who wish to use the book's supernatural powers to have supreme rule over Dal Riata's underground, are loaded with gold!

So, heroes of Dal Riata, get ready to explore the Geimhreadh Mountains, a place filled with exploration, secrets, risks, and for anyone between the levels of 20 and 30, inevitable death at least once!

Thanks! I guess if OTM ever decides to add it, there is the possibility of them changing the zone to suit a different set of levels.

Because it's my zone idea, so I designed it the way I wished to. Why don't you contribute a zone to this competition before criticizing others?

Efnisien's Bog
Ok nothing fancy, one day an unlucky miner in Fingal's cave stumbled upon a new area. As she explored she encountered a bunch of level 170 to level 230 fallen heroes. They were the remnants of players that failed to defeat the necromancer. When defeated by Efnisien they were cursed to wander the bog until summoned. The fallen heroes would say things like 'lol' or 'dead' when attacked.

Defeating a fallen hero has a 1/10 chance drop a corrupted leystone fragments, and if a player collected 100 corrupted fragments, they can turn it into a corrupted stone. The corrupted stone can be charged at any leystone in an area in order to teleport the player's group to a specific area chosen by the player holding the stone. After one use the stone crumbles to dust.

Efnisien's Bog map will look like a skull and the area will be accessible by Murky Vaults just behind Efnisien or in Carrowmore Tunnels near the Fianna Camp.
