We chose the name syndicate because it is defined as a group of people who work together ... and also it sounds aesthetically pleasing.

I suppose they could have made it slower but it is very unlikely that they would make it the same speed as the cruel dagger. The best bet is it is still 1471. Of course I could be wrong but in theory it should not be changed as its damage is quite low.
