I'd like to apologize to those of you who are currently having performance issues or experiencing crashes. Here's a quick update to let you know what the situation is, and the steps we're taking to resolve it.

As you know the Unity update was essential to being able to create future content, it pretty much required the rebuilding of the entire game, in many ways a more challenging job than creating a new game due to the many years of patches and inter dependencies that needed to be navigated. Would some more time to work on it have been beneficial? Probably. However we felt it was important that you saw progress as soon as possible.

The problem and the solution

The good news is that we've identified the issue, it's related to memory usage being inflated by an interaction between the User Interface and Unity 2018, this means that some players will experience crashes or low frame rate, and others on some newer devices will find the game runs hot.
We are now working on a solution to optimize the UI and to enable all players to get back in the game. In the very short term we have submitted an update to allow players on older devices to access the game. Over the next few weeks we'll be working to rewrite the UI code in order to improve frame rate and reduce battery load and heat. The current plan is to see 2-3 updates over the next few weeks, possibly one today if the build is approved in time.

How you can help

Please report any issues in the bug section of the forum, be sure to include your device and operating system, the more reports we have the more it helps us to fix the problems.

Double Plat and XP event

We will work to ensure that no one who is affected by these issues misses out on double plat, and will also be running an XP event in future to help players catch up who have missed out on playtime.We'll release more details about this next week.


Will these fixes require a client update? Because post reset I am still seeing crashes at login on my iPhone 6 with ios12

The 2-3 updates he mentions will be client updates, yeah. The “getting the build approved” gives it away.

Coolio this makes me feel a lot better thanks. I need things to be put into laymans terms though, so when will the crashing, and to a lesser extent, the lag be fixed so we can play like normal? With this update u submitted already or in the few weeks to come?

Just thinking, if the new UI that u designed was put into the game could this have been avoided?

*Id like to request a small battery icon and a floating virtual movement stick on the new UI*

Greatly appreciate this VR atleast you are communicating , and are trying which matters , people who don’t play other mmos don’t understand how vocal and understanding vr actually are, looking forward to future updates. I who has some knowledge in this field know how difficult it is, I’m actually creating a game myself as a project for school , every new ting I add I create 100 problems , I feel like banging my head on the table so I’m more understanding .

Well, to expect that an engine update of a 4 years old engine with a code thats unfamiliar to the new team would come out without bugs and glitches after few months the new team is working on the codes... Clearly people need to relax.

The only thing ppl need to think is not if the update was right or "rushed" (because the update was a must and not really rushed), but if VR will sit on it and make sure to fix the bugs and lag and framedrops for all the devices that can still play. The update was a must, but if u expected to not have these issues then its mostly ur fault. U need to remember games update every short period of time while this engine took 4 years to update.
