Dice/Distribute: How does your server/clan do Big Boss Drops

#1
We were chatting about inclusive and exclusive gameplay styles on different servers http://celtic-heroes.com/forum/viewtopi ... =4&t=70654, and question was asked how Lugh (playing with more clans at a single fight like Hrung) .. How does Lugh dice? So I can share that, and I am super curious about your servers gameplay style for dicing.

Dicing on lugh for Hrung/Mordris where several clans join in fight.

1. Level. Must be within 10 levels of boss and meet item requirement. So 180 for the 190 Mordris, and be 185 if specific drop requires 185 to equip. Old exception, must be 188 if item requires 190 - this is a motivation to level up. New exception, must be within 5 levels of Mordris/Necro because we can do Mordris easier and because Necro evasions are so good. Additional exception, Mordris mages and druids can be full 10 levels below if full support because we need them and have too few in lugh.

2. Class. Must be of class able to equip - specifically ranger, or caster, melee, etc. This is to ensure the drop is used to help next big boss fight get better. It's important at update time when fights are harder initially, and we just leave in place so no need to rehash at next update.

Sure I missed something in there, and hopefully someone will add it gingerly :D

Mighty curious if your server dices differently!

This is how we roll for boss drops. each person rolls the dice 5 times. We take the average of that roll and compare it to the average roll of last time we did that boss. If it is greater then we take their roll to the power of 2, but if it is less then we take the square root of that number. Then we add in all the rolls they had throughout the month and average that. We then add in 24.524 just because. Multiply all that by the number of snorri spawns in the past 54 days, and divide by the level of their character. And that's their number!

but no one wanted to do that so we just use DKP. :D

While there was multiple clans at a boss fight and we had to roll for drops we would just have a leader or one person from each clan roll on the drops. But dkp by far is the best strategy, would be a little difficult with a lot of people there in multiple clans it would take a lot of team work within the leaders of the clans involved.

On Danu, Ascension at least, to roll for drops you must be there before the boss is at 75%, must meet the lvl req of the item (no lower accepted) or higher than the req, if you're not going to use it you can't roll on it, if you're for example a dps class and 2 things drop like aggy dropped godly and imperial dmg rings the other day, you can't only roll on the one of your choice (must roll on both unless you win the first one) and you can only win one drop per boss, you may have 1 skull (if caster) 1 grim (mordis) (skull and grim at same time), or 1 halberd 1 mords helm, there is Low-Tier High-Tier rules but would take too long to list (and i dont know those rules exactly). That's just how Ascension does it :p

That dice roll sounds so simple, I don't understand why they wouldn't want it done 5 that way

Dicing for dl/raid drops always tends to lower your clans longelivity.

If your most active toons dont get drops while inactive lucky rollers do, the results will be on display at locks if you have those, not to mention on all boss fights. Always love what dice supporters have to say regarding this. "Its faster and easier"
It just seems like a slap on the face to me. #BanDice
