Knuckleblade Build

#1
Once I hit about level 105 I sold my diamond quickblade and bought a knuckleblade. From then until about level 120 I used it because (from calculations ive seen) its better than the dagger; also because I didnt have the meteoric dagger. In this build im going to list my build, what to add for higher levels/lower levels and my gear and importance (no summer armor required).

Stats:
Strength: 100 (175)
Dexterity: 300
Focus: 10
Vitality: 260

Reasons:
Strength: Total of 275 with bonuses because adding any more is pointless due to it peaking
Dexterity: Total of 200 with bonuses for higher hit chance and dodge chance
Focus: I have regens and dont require to store energy to use
Vitality: Its good to have quite a bit of health because dieing is a waste of time, money, or both

Skills:
Poison Weapon: 34/30
One of the best skills for knucks because of the low amount of pierce the damage goes up even slower
Fast Reflexes: 34/30
Another great skill, basically because why take damage if you can just dodge it
Smoke Bomb: 30/30
Knucks attack very many times but having them miss isnt even worth using them; having them hit nearly all is worth it
Bandage Wounds: 30/30
Speeds up regen; less time to spend waiting
Distract: 6/30
Why not? You dont need to keep agro in a group if you dont want to and I had extra points...

Equipment:

Needed = (n)
Not Needed = (nn)
Not Needed but recommended (r)

Helm of Severity: (r) adds dps and since knucks have fast hits it helps you more
Frozen Zodiac Jerkin: (nn)
Frozen Zodiac Breeches: (nn)
Frozen Zodiac Boots: (nn)
All frozen isnt needed and can be replaced with anything that keeps you from getting murdered
Heroic Gloves: (r) More hits more damage, plus equal armor to frozen gloves
Offhand: (n) I am currently using gold ice blade, good for dps and works well with knucks
Knuckeblade: (n) Isnt the build without it
Heroic Rejuv: (r) Good regens are very usefull because energy on certain skills can be expensive
Charm: (nn) Doesnt matter what kind it is
Other rings and bracelets : (r) very good for additional damage but not a must have

HP: 1750
Energy: 403
Attack: 1533 (still havent maxed h2h abillity)
Defense: 400 (1151 with fast reflexes)
Damage: 402 (469 with poison weapon)
Armor: 355

Hope at least one person can put this to use.
I could also use some good constructive criticism on what ive done thanks :)

looks like a pretty solid guide. I suggest moving 25 str to dex as well as trading the pois offhand for a blade. The blades offer a flat damage increase so with faster weapons they are more powerful. The blade makes an awesome combo with knuckleblades

Be Very Careful with this assumption. Depending on what your actual gear is, 300 is just a fairly random number thrown around for no "real reason".

The basic formula is
=((3/19*SQRT(STR)+6%*SQRT(ABILITY)+1)*(WEAP DMG+PHYS DMG))+ELEM DMG

Let's take your numbers and play with it.
Assumptions: 1400 Ability (L120, +200 H2H Ability from Dia Knucks)
Gear: Poison Dag (will skip the rest for now) 20 Pierce, 30 poison

With Dia Knucks 30 Pierce, 1750 speed
=((3/19*SQRT(300)+6%*SQRT(1400)+1)*(30+20))+30
328.9905748 / 1.75 = 187.9946142

@ 280 Str
324.3539363/ 1.75 = 185.3451065

@ 320 Str
333.4750676/ 1.75 = 190.5571815

Between 280 and 300, each Str pt adds .2318 of DMG
Between 300 and 320, each Str pt adds .2242 of DMG

With Dia Blades 70 Pierce, 2500 speed (can someone confirm blade and knuck have same speed?)
=((3/19*SQRT(300)+6%*SQRT(1400)+1)*(70+20))+30
568.1830347/ 2.5 = 227.2732139

@ 280
559.8370854/ 2.5 = 223.9348342

@ 320
576.2551216/ 2.5 = 230.5020486

Between 280 and 300, each Str pt adds 0.417297466
Between 300 and 320, each Str pt adds 0.403604345

What does these all mean? The higher your Base Physical Damage (30 v 70), the more benefit you get from STR, so don't just go with "300". In this example, keeping your Str to 300 means that you were getting almost Double the benefit with your 70 piece dagger, compared to your 30 pierce knucks.

EDIT: Corrected speeds for Dia Dagger (2500) and Dia Knucks (1750) per Jacoby's data.

Very true, this is the reason I suggested moving a bit of strength to dex. Thank you mariner for proving it :)

Diamond Quickblade: 2500 attack speed
Diamond Knuckles: 1750 attack speed

Sorry im not very good at math :) this guide was speaking with my experience with using the build and it suited me.
Glad you took the time to do those calculations and ill look into the build and possibly do some revising

The reason I don't use knucks is because at my level I don't really want to spend all my time training H2H, so I just use Diamond dagger, with my heroic gloves it goes down to 1750 (knuck speed w/o heroic gloves) anyway. Just me, personally.

I would also advise that you use blade instead of venom - it adds strength that can be used more valuably in dex. The only reason I use venom myself is because at the moment I am using a greater solstice necklace (sold heroic rejuv) so I need the rejuv from dagger. If you are the same, I would advise keeping that rejuv

I am currently try to find someone interested in trading it but within my world its impossible to find one and yes i agree that it does take a while to train the abillity and is the only readon that I hesitated in getting knucks.

Thank you for the correction. I edited my orig post.

You really don't have to do the math, except for dividing your Stated (on your char sheet) DMG by your weapon speed. The DMG Calc is done by the game; Papi (originator of that formula) just provided the means for us to play around with it without having to actually change gears, lol.
