Small tips for rogues

First off, Rogues are not my main class, but two weeks ago I started lvling my rogue alt (pretty quickly if I do say so).

Second thing, my rogue is pimped out with my main rangers dps gear, so some of these things don't apply for everyone.

Tip #1
You're a rogue, speedy attacks are your friend! Just because something has has significantly more damage, pay close attention to the weapon speed.

Tip #2
Don't be afraid to switch weapons.

I've been messing with this a lot while killing various mobs, and it seems like my dps is increased a bit when switching between my diamond dagger and cruel knife while leveling.

Once the mob is at half I switch from my cruel knife to my diamond dagger and use sneaky attack followed by assassinate, and generally the mob is dead.
Tip #3
I noticed that someone made a guide for rogue tanks, but it never really talked about how every swing gains a certain amount of aggro regardless of how much damage you are doing.

So if you are trying to gain aggro for whatever reason, switch to a cruel knife after you use sneaky with your main wep.

Tip #4
Leveling quickly.

I've been duo leveling with druids about 50% of the time and I must say that this is probably the most efficient way to level if you have the right gear setup.

I keep quickstrike at lvl 1 and still find this skill semi useful for quickly gaining aggro from my druids when a mob spawns on them.

Tip #5
Rings

Find some greater charstone rings! They are relatively cheap and give you the most bang for your buck!

When you have your ring slots topped with these you instantly have armour that is comparable to a warrior's!

Generally you can pick one of these up for around 3k

This is all I have at the moment, but I plan to add more to this as I progress.

Please, please, please tell me if I gave any false info during this *stares at piggeh*

Good guide for starter and mid level rogues! Assa isn't useful at higher levels generally, but it can be at lower levels.

I am a 150 rogue and still have 4 +27 greater charstone rings in my inven at all times ready for use, I can gear change to tank if need be at a moments notice yet still have good DPS stats.

Was a little nervous when you said rogue isn't your main but good guide, well done on starter and mid level tips.

you can't use sneaky when a mob is at half way unless it is targeting someone else.

False. Damage matters. more damage = more aggro. Technically more dps = more aggro, but because rogues hit lower/faster than other classes it only appears that we take aggro with less damage.
also, i did say that in my guide:
Frozen Meteoric Dagger (or highest equivalent. more dps means more aggro)

Kiy, every swing does gain aggro, more damage is higher aggro, but more fast swings also gains aggro

Alright, I wasn't very specific with the sneaky/assass weapon switch, but I just kinda assumed people wouldn't try to use this while solo lvling. This was aimed for those who are leveling with a tank/ranger.

Alright, so I think piggeh did a pretty good job explaining that, however, this technique was something I learned very quickly while playing as a ranger.

As a dex ranger lvling with a bunch of rogues I know quite a bit about this. Whenever I used rapid shot and lowered my attack speed I would generally gain aggro until the mob was dead, even though I wasn't doing the highest damage out of my group.

Same thing can be said while I was lvling at ymir guards the other day. I am currently under-lvl to be doing any kind of significant damage there, but my rogue with a cruel knife, while hasted, was gaining every single ounce of aggro from the mobs even though there were mages doing massive damage.

Frozen dagger or highest equivalent = cruel knife

Tip #3 wasn't added there to insult you by any means. I was just trying to put more information out there.

you're right about the cruel knife, it gains a lot of aggro due to its super-high attack speed. If you've got some nice damage gear to go with it, it can be really effective for interrupting boss' skills.
The shoreline dagger can also achieve this with its 1520 (i think) attack speed

Very good tips but i also find helpful is using heroic haste gloves with an ascold dagger and i dps around 500-700 on mobs. i also find it helpful for rouges to get PLAY DEAD SKILL! Its also good dps to use a diamond/quartz dagger until you can get frozen. Charstone rings are very helpful and if you are a "dual devicer" you can upgrade your druids BARK shield and you can have some pretty good defense.

Deathreaper, almost everything you said was complete rogue blasphemy... NEVER use anything two handed of as slow as an askold weapon. You shouldn't even be using quartz or diamond if you have meteoric
