@Armo, i noticed u suggested both shards and firebolt, but i wanted to mention that inc can compete ice shards on fire build, but frostbite has no chance against firebolt in ice build imo

Devils advocate here, but you said skill rings are vital for mages. Would you prefer a skill ring over the 75 focus ring?

Yes. Then again, depends what rings you are using. Anything grand and above should not be replaced with other rings, like the 75 focus ring you are talking about.

a few questions, as im still a newbie on mages sort of
1. would the 100 focus ammy be worth getting over talismans?
2. does lure of fire affect incinerate as well as firebolt and storm?

1. Hundred percent yes. Besides the fact that you get more energy regeneration and the huge focus boost, you get the 500 damage energy shield which stacks with your normal energy shield skill. Everything about it complements the way mages work and I definitely recommend getting it if you have the money.
2. Yes, incinerate is affected by fire lure.
