Server merges are something the playerbase has wanted for a while. The thing is, each server has it’s own little community and economy that would likely get disrupted by merging servers. Also, if a server starts to get too full, it slows game progress down significantly. For example, later on, you need to collect boss drops to get important quest gear. The problem is that the bosses spawn slowly, only drop a couple items, and usually only spawn boss placeholders, which rarely drop anything at all. If the game only has 30-40ish players at each general stage of the game, it’s not really of a problem....but if some servers were to start merging, and there were 70+ regular players waiting impatiently for gear, that could cause a lot of frustration. Especially considering that some people wouldn’t get along, there would probably end up with multiple endgame clans, all competing at bosses for the kill.So which server should i choose, based on player base?
P.S. I dont get it, why there is need for so many servers, on crom im lvl 9, maybe it was just the starting city but i saw only 1other player, so why not merge the servers?
I think that if some servers were to merge, the new community would settle down eventually, but it could see a lot of players go inactive or start leaving. Some people will say that it depends on which servers are merging, and that’s true - some servers are larger or skaller than others, but I still think there would be issues for at least a few months. Is that in itself a reason not to merge servers? Not really, but it may be enough for VR to not consider it at the moment.
