Ideas to get people to go to the Tavern

#1
To start this off, no one is ever in the tavern. I go in there to heal after battles and it is usually totally empty, I'm the only one there.

I remember preupdate we were told that the tavern players would hang out, trade, ect.

So I have some ideas that would make people want to come.

1. Turn it into more like a trading post by putting buyers of rare items there NPC's. That way on peoples quest to find NPC's that give them the most gold, they would come to the tavern. The more people of varied levels in a zone the more trading that happens.

2. Put a tax on trading in the game everywhere except the Tavern. It doean't have to be much, mabye a 5% tax when gold is traded. This would CERTAINLY turn this zone into a trading hotspot. People might not like this idea ar first, but they will come to love

Why play a class where skills cost more than other classes for same damage?
Why play a class with no auto attack?
Why play a class with 1/3 the armor?
Why play a caster?

I think the original thought was to have the fashion item merchants in the tavern, which would have been nice. But I can definitely see why they decided to it them in the castle instead

Once I get to level 80, get full Green Shadow Armor, and get myself an icon, I'd be interested in having an artisic rendering of my character for my sig. :D

another idea is to make travel free to the tavern or east docks (people with extra loot would travel here too instead of just farcrag).

And of course a banker could be implemented here too.

I think a lot of the reasons Farcrag is a good trading place is because of the free travel, banker, and pvp.

One idea instead of adding an extra banker to the tavern, is to move the banker to the tavern, but this might get more resistance.

What do you all think?

Interesting, yes the castle seems like the place everything is happening and the tavern seems left out :(.

Since taverns are more for drinks and food and stuff, what about a merchant that sells drinks and food that have certain effects? Basically watered down versions of potions that are available for gold

My thought would be the castle is the hotspot for pvp and the tavern for trading. Clans would hang out at either because at one they could duel, at the other they could trade.

My ideas were oriented toward that goal.

Heres another idea for a bonus at the castle: Like relaxing atmosphere, it would be "training grounds" at the castle where players abilities would increase at a 10% faster rate for example.

Or mabye the potions have an immediate effect where the food increases your regen over time for a set time period. Bread increases regen for a short time but higher regen and meat lasts longer but slower regen :).

And the regen doesn't have to be much, mabye on the order of 1-5 per tick.
