Re: Find the dragon egg drop rate experimentally

First 75 chests I bought I got an egg within first 25..
later that day I traded the egg for 150 chests and exactly 36 in I got another egg.. and sold it for 4m..

So 225 chests and 2 eggs..

I think a feedback is always helpfull.

I see many player buying 100s and 1000s chests for gold or platin.
Even minors invest the little money they have, to buy a few chests and to get the drag they are so excited about.
Its a jackpot .... ok.
You need 6 of them ... ok.
But both same time? Thats horrible!
We will have some, especially young player, that will give anything they worked hard for, to get an egg ... and they may lose.
Maybe they leave this game after they failed, totally frustrated..... I dont think this is helpfull.
I love this game but its still a multiplayer game and i cant play it solo.
So pls give them all a lil higher chance to get this ......cute drag, pls.
Thx :)

As part of my comments I have pointed out that you guys stated it is a jackpot prize. However what I will say in everyone's defense is that it has never been front and centre that it is a jackpot prize and it is by no means obvious unless you do a little digging. Yes players should have done that digging before taking the gamble, but in fairness I think OTM should and could do more to make it obvious. My first suggestion would be to update the chest description in the store to state that the egg is a jackpot prize.

Second thanks for at least confirming that the drop rates are slightly better than other jackpot prizes. Would you guys be able / willing to confirm that, for this new chest, the drop rate of the gold and plat jackpot prizes is the same is it always has been in past chests? Just to put players minds at rest that you haven't increased jackpot rates specifically for this chest.

Does it matter if it's stated that it's a "jackpot" prize?

People go to Vegas and lose and complain all the time. So what. People like to express disappointment and frustration. It's okay.

But how many people complain to the casino management that they didn't win the jackpot and then tell them the jackpot rate is too high and demand to be given a jackpot prize?

I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't receive their fair share of emails with something similar to that.

$600 worth of plat purchased over 2 accounts. 48,000 plat. 1300 chests strictly from the cash purchases. Approximately 700-900 additional chests purchased from the plat dropped from the chests. I also purchased approximately 1300 chests when they first released prior to black Friday sale. No eggs or other jackpots from those first chests.

2 eggs.
1 4k plat jackpot.

This is actually the best I have ever done in my history of buying chests. I quit playing for about a year, just started again a couple months ago. My iTunes history shows around $13k purchases to OTM. In all of that, I never received a 100% mount, 2m prize or 4k plat prize.

No, no, no, the egg is not a jackpot prize. I have looked the the write ups on the chests themselves and the different places within the game where they are marketed or sold. No where did I see mention of the egg being a jackpot. In fact, in the most detailed list it is included with pet tokens and other common drop items. There was/is every reason to believe that the drop rate would get you 6 eggs for a full dragon at a rate similar to a previous full legacy mount or cost no more than getting 64 mount tokens. Who are these OTM shills spreading that the egg is a jackpot. It was definitely not disclosed in the game that it is some jackpot price.

I like chests. I buy chests. I have previously talked to OTM about drop rates as I do keep track of rates of chests I buy. I am aware of statistic, but want someone else to run the numbers. Some of you talk about gambling, which to me is a different issue, although when gambling you are normally told the odds. Here we are told nothing. These shills claim we should know the egg is a jackpot price even though past OTM drops of mount tokens would train us to think otherwise. Plus there are the listing of eggs themselves with other normal drops.

Had OTM revealed the truth I likely would have spent the same cash, but would not feel cheated as I now do. The result of otm’s behavior is to cause this whale to look elsewhere for my future enjoyment. My love of opening chests is gone. I now have enough lix for my kids and I to play our many toons for a long time with no need for plat or chests in the future. OTM has created a disaster.

Bad news first: No, we won't publicly give you the drop rate, but as someone has stated previously, it is and has always been advertised as a Jackpot Prize. The information passed to me is that the drop is similar to (actually you have a bit of better chance at an egg) than the other Jackpot Prizes.

Good news second: Now that being said, it is completely understandable that we are receiving complaints that it takes hitting Jackpot six times in order to have a maxed out prize. Keeping this in mind as players discuss, the team is closely monitoring this discussion and the information coming the game.

It's completely okay for you to complain about aspects or additions to the game that you don't enjoy. I can also follow the logic of Robbo's post and hope/believe their intent is not to anger, but to ask a different question. That is that of game direction for paid content and the amount it takes to max out the dragon pet VS specifically drop rate, as this is advertised as Jackpot Prizing. Seems like one of those situations where someone is asking if we're really asking the right questions. Just my take.

Please continue with your discussions from both points of view. We need the feedback and information for future decisions made for the game. We want it to be fun! We don't have a game without a community. :)

Just me sipping my tea:
Additionally, I have enjoyed reading through both the positive and negative feedback. The information posted and looking into on the servers... Some of you are very honest and lucky or very unlucky.... Others.... It's been a fun day of learning for me.

False, false, false information from OTM. I have reviewed the chest information in the game. No where that I see does it say this is a jackpot prize. Read your own material. Now maybe in Facebook or other teaser you make the claim, I don’t know. In the game the Chest says, “*2017* Win up to 3 rewards from each mystery chest including a chance of an amazing Dragon Hatchling Pet, all-new Battle Mount Tokens, Fashion Tokens, Pet Tokens, Heroic Elixer Bundles, up to 4000 platinum, and a Grand Prize of 2,000,000 gold.”

OTM clearly lists the egg, mount tokens, fashion tokens, pet tokens and lix bundles on equal footing. No mention of the egg being a jackpot. In fast 2,000,000 gold,is listed as the GRAND PRIZE, therefore all other prizes should be more common and worth less than 2m in gold.

Oh, you're right. We did not mention it in enough prominent places. It was mentioned, but it should have been mentioned in more highly visible places. I'll eat that mistake. BUT, we'll definitely not make that mistake again while I'm around.

What, are you taunting me? It sure sounds like it. I have yet to be shown one place where it is mentioned that the dragon egg will only come as a jackpot prize from a chest. All yours in game materials indicate otherwise, and the marketing material does not say that either.
