"Event" Has Lost its Meaning, HURRAY!

(Edit)
Note from Muldar:
Just clarify up some misconceptions I think players may be having regarding the recent beta.
Old event chests are not coming back in this update, the chest offer in store is simply us testing targeted special offers in beta. (Long time player, recently spent plat etc)
Please read the "Welcome to beta" thread in beta section as it details the additions made in this second beta.
Once again, event chests in the store are simply a test of targeted special offers.
Thanks

Yes, it's been confirmed that Event Lux from all previous Events will be made available again through a permanent vendor. The catch: You've gotta pay your way through the whatever is in stock for new items to appear, so if you don't get that smexy Reaper Ring or Wyld Ammy on the first go, get ready to dump a ton of gold into other Lux you may not really want.
From what I can tell, the "better" Lux will have a rarer chance to spawn in the shop than the cruddier Lux (I'm looking at you, Yule 2013 Lux). BUT I'm not sure if the same piece of Lux can spawn twice or not. If that's the case then you may be in for a long and painful path to your glorified Pumpkin Ring.
Since Lux other than Wyld, Reaper and Stargem will be more common then we may see a big drop in the prices of all the other Past Lux being sold by players. Midnight Talis might drop down to 500k, Sunshard as well, while the better Lux may float around the same price as they are currently.
To all of the new players who always dreamt of attaining our badass Lux that we earned with our money and tenure, you've just been given a delicious carrot on a stick. Enjoy your Permanent Lux (Since the term "Event Lux" has been made so unceremoniously obsolete).
Then of course we have all the old Fashion coming back as well. Wonderful. It's apparently Bound to each player but what does that matter? If someone is obsessed with White Lanrik they would never sell it anyway. And now a bunch of kids who don't understand how MMO's work can just throw a bunch of their parents money at the game until they get what they want.
WHY??
One of the aspects of an MMORPG is seeing some guy from the start of the game with all of the awesome Special Gear and wishing you had it. It makes you envious that he has that cape or whatever from Anniversary 2001, but you also admire him and look at how cool he is- and hope that one day MAYBE you can buy one of those.
Well, that's all been thrown out the sodding window and pissed on. Now we're gonna see half of our servers loaded with people running around in White Lanrik and Hunter, there won't be any difference between a set that's bound and a set that was actually from 2013 cos now that there's so many sets it takes away the feeling of "Oh that guy has really been on the game a long time, I admire him." Because everyone is just gonna have the same fash. You'd only know if you'd examine the player.
It seems like these past 5 years were just a waste if it was all gonna come down to bringing back the old stuff anyway. What was the point? Event has lost it's meaning and it sucks, and now OTM will have to start from scratch if they want to establish themselves as a normal MMO again- where players with Tenure have cooler shyt.
Don't get me wrong- I'm fine, happy in fact, that all these things are available again. What I'm NOT happy about is how the Lux and Fashion was paraded around as *LIMITED TIME* (wow!) items and now they're made permanent. That's what reaaaaaally saddens me.
A question to OTM- was this planned a long time beforehand, or was it a recent decision? I don't know which is worse tbh.
