On a serious note though I feel that if pets were in a fashion slot then they should not have special abilities or such. I personally want a whole new slot in armor for them or just a new section for the pet. We should also later throughout the year be able to gear our pets up to give them stats.

I wish the animated companion could check my mail for me when I'm too lazy to travel to another area or far out.
Come to think of it I want my animated companion real life to take me shopping.

This is exciting to have something new in the game.
