The game needed something like this for a very long time... PvP that’s actually worthwhile. What’s a MMORPG without good PvP?
Lag and the unbalanced classes/gear in PvP are the only worthy issues.
The game is literally unplayable in the arena. The game has shown in the past that 4 pages of toons was already stretching the limits of the engine. Now they designed a raid which puts 14+ page of toons together.
How is pvp fun when:
-classes are unbalanced
-you can’t move due to lag
-you can’t see the people who hit you or see the people that you are trying to hit
This concept was not ready for the live game. There are too many flaws.
They’re using it to gather data so they can further improve their systems to better handle large scale encounters, that’s what I assume based off of what’s been said. Getting this many for a beta would be impossible. Lag and players disappearing isn’t really that much of a problem if you have a better device and are focused in on which players are surrounding you. I’m at the attempts using an IPhone 8 with max graphics on and the lag is definitely manageable for me. Most people I assume are more fixated on the boss/obelisks instead of which players are surrounding them, leaving them more vulnerable to attacks from players looking to kill.
Yeah PvP is really unbalanced. I can 2 or 3 shot a normal eg warrior using normal gear with a normal set up using firebolt/storm, while it takes me 20+ hits to take down a eg PvP warrior or rogue rocking 4 t4 reaver rings with max vit... but that’s in 1v1 or smaller scale PvP battles, as in large scale even PvP warriors can get overwhelmed easily
One more tip from the professor, always keep moving around, never stay in one position as you’re more likely to die if you do.
