I would like candy cane pogo stick, that in addition to allowing me to portal anywhere on the game map, adds 500 focus and 500 nature magic. It should be a unique item and be called the Gortstick.

Druid is in the same boat. Our embrace is cut in half in the arena.

can this be a spell Druids can self-cast in anticipation of their own death to auto-rez? Or will druids be buying idols to rez but saving others idols via SoL?

Whichever, if any, of these ideas are added to game the spring of life spell should absolutely be exempt from the penalty. SoL should also revive people with a percentage of their total health. I'm in favor of seeing that percentage raise with acquired levels (lvl 1 - 3% lvl 2 - 6%, ..., lvl 10 - 3...

You NEED to read the numerous comments in old threads after the dbl xp weekend. If the devs ever do the event again it woukd be a tragedy for them. As others have told you, a primary negative to double xp is the short shelf life of new content they spend so many resources and so much time to create....
