Thank you that does help actually, but does that mean there reaches a point where if the monster could have an attack low enough that they would not be able to hit someone with a very high amount of defence?

This question might be more suited to be answered by people involved in scripting the game, but I'll give it a shot anyway. Since defence rating effectively reduces your change of being hit, I would imagine there would be some sort of hard cap, and maybe even a point of diminishing return or softcap...

That bug only works on Duciarus, no other boss. As a lvl 55 mage with nearly full plate (except gloves) I cannot kill Avatar unless I chug dollars worth of pots which is simply not worth it. I feel like that lvl 52 mage is full of it. :) Sometimes fire cloak does no damage at all after casting Lure ...
