All gs is, is a sup'ed up auto attack its on the same timer. Pummel is not on the weapon swing timer. It will always put perform. If the cast time and cool down of gs was halved it might be able to compete more with that skill.

Depends on your strengh. Pummel also, is not on weapon swing timer and has a faster cooldown then swing. Just on that basis alone it is my opinion, pummel is superior.
